Mr. Thomas Richard Williamson, 78, of Appleton Road, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at a Birmingham hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala., and a retired salesman with Hainje's Home Furnishers. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of North Brewton Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was a member of Gideons International. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Jernigan Williamson.
He is survived by one brother, George (Erlene) Williamson of Brewton; one sister, Hazel Williamson Downs of Brewton; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King and Speaker George Hendricks officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
