Arts Council presenting 'Steel Magnolias' Tuesday

The Brewton Council of the Arts will present "Steel Magnolias" at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.
The Montana Repertory Theatre will bring the play to Brewton.
The play, like the movie, is set in Truvy's Beauty Spot in Chinquapin, La., where a delightful group of women congregate for much more than a wash and set.Truvy, with the help of her new "glamour technician," Anelle, dispenses shampoo with liberal doses of free advice to Ouiser, an eccentric millionaire. Meanwhile, the town's social worker, M'Lynn, is busy planning her daughter Shelby's wedding.
Corporate sponsors for the production include Bank of Brewton, BankTrust of Brewton, Brewton Medical Center, Citation/Alabama Ductile, Earl H. Weaver Management Services, First Progressive Bank, Hines Realty, The Leigh Place, Natural Decorations, Inc., Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., Stokes, Jernigan and Stokes, Surgical Associates of South Alabama, and T.R. Miller Mill Co.
Additionally, all programs are jointly supported in part by a grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Advance tickets can be purchased at the local high schools. Student tickets are $3 in advance and $8 at the door. Adult tickets are $15.
