Mr. L. Lee Boyd Jr., 81, of Dogwood Lane, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Birmingham, a former resident of Yazoo City, Miss., and New Jersey, before moving to Brewton in 1967. He served as a merchant marine in World War II, was a retired Marine engineer from Sea Land with 41 years of service and attended the East Brewton First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Douglas Boyd of Brewton; three sons, John (Johnnie Clyde) Boyd and Craig (Sue) Boyd, both of Brewton and Kyle (Martha) Boyd of Ashville, N.C.; one sister, Betty Allred of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Angel Boyd Stuckey, John Thomas Boyd, Lee Boyd, Kelli Boyd Hobbs, Michael Boyd, Hallie Boyd and Mary-Mac Boyd, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 24, at 1 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Hart officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing
