The Brewton Fire Department responded to a call Wednesday night believed to have been started by lightning.
According to Capt. Mike Steele, two fire engines, a rescue truck and 12 firemen went to 141 Haley Avenue, off of Pea Ridge, after a neighbor called to report a fire at 7:22 p.m.
When the fire departmentresponded to the call, nobody was at home. There was moderate damage to the house, mainly smoke and water damage, Steele said. There were no reported injuries, Steele added.
The cause of the fire is possibly lightning striking a gas line.
