While the T.R. Miller Tigers golf team has proven it can be successful in nine-hole competition, it is how well the team performs in 18-hole meets that will determine how far it goes in postseason competition.
If one meet is any indication, T.R. Miller may do well in that area as well. The Tigers responded to their first 18-hole event of the season Tuesday with a 353-414 triumph at Greenville.
Tiger junior Tripp Owens continued to set the standard during the team's meets this season, as he fired a four-over-par 76 to lead all players. James Dixon was next in line with a 90, Matt Fraser had a 91 and Hayes Peace shot a 96 for the final counter position.
T.R. Miller (6-1-1) will play its final home meet and final regular season meet Monday when it hosts Greenville at 1:30 p.m. at the Country Club of Brewton in another 18-hole event.
