Mr. Harry Pugh Howell Jr., 81, of Horseshoe Road, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Mobile and a long-time resident of Brewton. He was retired from the United States Navy with 21 years of service and had worked as a warehouse supervisor with K-Mart. He was a member of the Alco Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Larry P. Howell Sr. of Biloxi, Miss.; a brother, Leon (Anita) Howell of Brewton and four grandchildren, Toni (David) Duroure of Brewton, Larry Howell of Riverside, Calif., Paulette (Steve) Moss of Waxahachie, Texas and John Howell of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joshua Pierce officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
