After heavy rain during the weekend, Murder and Burnt Corn creeks reached flood stage early Monday. Murder Creek crested at 13.12 feet, one foot above flood stage, while Burnt Corn Creek crested at 15.51 feet, 2.5 feet above flood stage. Damages to bridges, county roads and streets were expected to exceed more than $100,000.
