Twenty-four hours is not a long time over the course of a sports season, but that time frame could be very damaging to the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks' bid for a postseason berth.
When play started Wednesday, JDCC owned the fourth and final playoff spot in the Alabama Community College Conference south division.
Four losses and 24 hours later, JDCC is on the outside looking in when it comes to the postseason.
The Lady Warhawks' problems began Wednesday when they were swept at L.B. Wallace. The host Lady Saints cruised to a 3-0 win in game one and followed that with a 4-2 victory in game two.
L.B. Wallace pitcher Kim Klugh blanked JDCC with a three-hitter and 14 strikeouts in the opener.
The Lady Saints scored all three of their runs in the third inning on a walk, a single, two doubles and two key errors against JDCC pitcher Nikki Madden.
The Lady Warhawks managed

just three singles, one each by Sonie Demko, Makeyia Burt and Carleen Clark.
JDCC (15-28 overall and 8-10 in the ACCC) took a brief 1-0 lead in the first inning on game two on an RBI single by Lakyn Newton.
For the second time on the day, L.B. Wallace did all its damage in one inning with a four-run second frame with three singles, an error and a double against Newton.
JDCC got two singles from Ashley Ross plus a single and an RBI from Newton and Teran Kilgore to pace its offense.
Thursday saw the Lady Warhawks get swept at home by Faulkner State with setbacks of 9-3 in the first game and 4-2 in game two.
Game one was deadlocked at 1-1 until Faulkner state erupted for seven fifth inning runs against Madden.
JDCC was held to four hits. Burt and Madden each had a single, Kelly Stewart contributed an RBI double and Clark also had a two-bag hit.
In game two, JDCC erased a 2-0 deficit in the bottom of the fourth inning when Kristen Phillips drilled an RBI single and Jessica Cunningham was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded that forced in the tying run.
It stayed deadlock until the top of the seventh inning when a two-out throwing error allowed the Sun Chiefs to take the lead against losing pitcher Newton. An RBI triple followed.
