Mrs. Alice Moder Hood, 99, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a native of New York City and a former resident of Melbourne, Fla., before moving to the Mount Carmel community in 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce "Zan" Hood and her siblings, Charlie, Tom, Martha, Lillian and Arthur.
She is survived by her church family at Mount Carmel Methodist Church and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 2, at 6 p.m. at Mount Carmel Methodist Church with the Rev. John F. Edwards officiating. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Royal Cemetery in Oneonta, Ala., with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were John Hood, James Hendricks, Robert Hayes, John D. Hendricks, Joe Max Linzy and Donald Hendricks.
