An area man was arrested after authorities found 650 marijuana seedling plants growing at his residence. The plants were being grown in various bedding containers, apparently for transfer.
Watercolorist and Brewton native Willoweise Langham was honored with a reception and exhibition at the Brewton Public Library.
Recent winners int he Brewton Elementary School spelling bee contest were Sara Miller, Rhonda Elder, Angela Peevy, and Jeff Carter. Sara advanced to the county-wide spelling bee, where she placed fourth.
New SGA officers for W.S. Neal High School's student council are Vionne Smith, president; Steve Hacker, vice president; Tracie Brown, secretary; Ron Holmes, chaplain; and Teresa Graves, treasurer.
