Mr. Daniel Vernon Bullock, 77, died Thursday May 5, 2005, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Laurel, Miss., and a former resident of Gulfport, Miss., before moving to Brewton in 1962. He was retired from Civil Service and was a member of Cedar Hill Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled Veterans of America. He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Edward Bullock.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Thompson Bullock of Brewton; a son, Danny Lee Bullock of Brewton; two daughters, Lilly Jo Bullock Kirby of Texas City, Texas, and Virginia Bullock Lee of Satsuma; one sister, Rosa Lee Graham of Gulfport, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, May 8, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Dyal, the Rev. Doug Greer and the Rev. William Qualls officiating. Burial will follow at Travis Cemetery on Travis Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
