This week Vanguard Home Health Services and the American Nurses Association sponsored National Nurses Week, which is held every year during May 6-12. The purpose of National Nurses Week is to raise public awareness of the value of nursing and to help educate the public about the vital roles nurses play in meeting the health care needs of the American people.
In an effort to promote a continued celebration of nurses through the month of May, Vanguard Home Health Services would like to pay special tribute to Brewton and Escambia County nurses who provide highly skilled, safe and quality care in a variety of settings, and who encounter increased challenges to their profession and ethical commitment to deliver essential health care.
Vanguard Home Health Services is soliciting stories that pay tribute to these nurses. Perhaps, for example, an individual may want to thank the nurse who cared for him/her or his/her family member, or perhaps a nurse was involved in saving a particular person's life and the individual would like to show his/her gratitude. Vanguard Home Health Services would like to hear from your readers and we ask that your newspaper print these testimonials during the remaining weeks of May.
Please help us recognize our area nurses and give an individual the opportunity to share his/her story, paying tribute to a well-deserved nurse or to all indispensable nurses during this month.
I want to express my own heartfelt gratitude to these Vanguard employees: Stephanie Scott, RN, Nursing Supervisor, Kelley Lundy, RN, Misti Godwin, RN, Robin Griffin, RN, Felicia Jernigan, RN, Mari Lynn Hammac, RN, Community Awareness Rep., Becky Blanks, RN, Jo Ann Johnson, LPN, Sandy McGhee, LPN, Glenda Moye, HHAide, Margie Jackson, HHAide and Tiffany Smith, HHAide for your dedication to our profession, commitment to the field of home health and tireless effort to provide exceptional quality care to the residents of Brewton/Escambia County.
