The Rev. R.C. Waters, 88, died June 1, 2005 in a Monroeville hospital. He was a native of Burnt Corn and a resident of Repton. He was a member and former pastor of the Full Gospel Revival Center of Monroeville. He was also the former pastor of Community Chapel Holiness Church in Frisco City. He had worked with Southern Flexible and Southern Coach in Evergreen and as a security guard with Alabama River Pulp and Vanity Fair Corporation. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, J.P. Brooks.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marguerite Waters of Repton; his sons, Douglas (Kate) Waters of Uriah, Raybon (Myrtle) Waters of Repton, Jimmy (Charlene) Waters of LaPlace, La., Reginald (Frances) Waters of Monroeville, Herman Waters of Excel and Carlton Waters (Regina) Waters of Evergreen; his daughters Gayle Booker of Atlanta, Ga., Dorothy Brooks of Monroeville and Jane (Bill) Manning of Goodway; his brothers, Burgess Waters of Belleville and Bernice Waters of Evergreen; his sisters, Voncile Morrison of Mobile and Elouise Andress and Gladys Helton, both of Monroeville; 25 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Harris officiating. Burial followed at Oak Dale Assembly Cemetery in Repton with Monroe Chapel Funeral Home directing.
