While EMT-Basic classes have been taught at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, students now have the option to take it at the Atmore campus.
Ann Mantel, program director, said the addition came after a "good bit of interest" became apparent in the Atmore area.
Mantel said that the program has been offered for a number of years and is typically taught once a year in the spring in Brewton. However, the classes in Atmore will be offered during the fall 2005 term.
The classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 until 9:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 16, 2005.
To enroll in the classes, students must complete an application for admission, which can be picked up at both campuses or the packet can be downloaded online at www.jdcc.edu.
The class is limited to 20 students. Students must be certified in CPR or be enrolled in EMS100. The Brewton campus will still be offering the class during the spring, depending on "what the interest will be," Mantel said.
