The Alabama High School Athletic Association's decision to allow seven team competition days is something the W.S. Neal Blue Eagles football team hopes to take advantage of this summer.
The Blue Eagles will be hosting a team passing camp July 11-12, 14 with at least two other schools scheduled to participate.
The Blue Eagles' summer workout program got underway this past Monday. W.S. Neal players are working out three days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) throughout June. The team will take a week's break during the week of the July 4 before resuming workouts four days a week. A Friday workout session will be added in July.

the two sessions gives them a chance to get their work with us done. Most of our players, about 45 to 50, use the morning session although we have had about 10 to 15 players who have used the evening session," Hathcock said. "Once we get into July, we'll have just the evening workout session. That program will last about three weeks before we get into the start of official practice."
Most of the workout sessions last about two hours.
The outdoor portion of the workout schedule consists of both conditioning and football drills.
Hathcock plans to mix up the weight room work.
Incoming freshmen are following a similar summer schedule to the varsity players.
