The Brewton-East Brewton Junior Chamber of Commerce elected new officers Tuesday night. New officers are Charles Land, president; H.O. Moorer, first vice president; Clyde Galloway, second vice president.
Vacation Bible Schools have been in full swing at three Brewton churches this week. Average attendance at the Methodist Church has been around 105 a day, while attendance at First Baptist has averaged 200, and average attendance at First Presbyterian has been 60.
Grocerymen in Brewton have formed an association, according to E.M. Lovelace, president of the local Chamber of Commerce. The grocery merchants met at Marlane's Restaurant to elect T.P. May of May Candy and Grocery Co., and Carl V. Allen, of Allen's Grocery and Market, co-chairmen of the group.
