Mr. John D. Cole, 67, of College Street, died Saturday, June 25, 2005, in a Fairhope hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, Ala. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired U.S. Army Veteran and retired.
He is survived by three sons, John M. (Cory) Cole and Earl (Joyce) Graves, both of Flomaton, and Johnny Cole of Georgia; two daughters, Linda (Donnie) Johnson of Flomaton and Brenda (Steve) Coogin of New York; one sister, Dot (Ted) Russell of Pace, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Clifford Dixon officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
