Mr. Anthony Scott Gibbs Jr., 23, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, in Abbeville. He was a native of Walnut Hill and a resident of Atmore for the past three years. He was a member of Annie Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and an employee of Seacor Marine. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lee Gibbs Sr.
He is survived by his father, Anthony Gibbs Sr. and his mother, Gowanda Yvonne Le Fluer Gibbs, both of Davisville, Fla.; his wife, Laura Helton Gibbs of Atmore; his son, Austin Taylor Gibbs of Atmore; his grandmother, Mary F. Gibbs of Monroeville; his brother, Eric Shawn (Nicole) Gibbs of Norfolk, Va., and his sister, Amanda Lynn Gibbs of Davisville.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. George McClure and the Rev. Bill Watts officiating. Burial followed at Canoe Freewill Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
