JDCC's Phillips named Academic All-American

Kristen Phillips, a Jefferson Davis Community College sophomore, has been named an Academic All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Phillips was chosen for the award based on her performance as a volleyball and softball player for the JDCC Warhawks as well as her outstanding academic achievements. The Prospect, Tenn., native graduated from JDCC with a 3.817 grade point average and served as the SGA president during the 2004-2005 academic year.
Phillips will attend Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tenn., on a softball manager scholarship.
