Probably the biggest offseason impact for T.R. Miller volleyball did not occur this summer but this past spring with the establishment of a new local club volleyball program. Six Lady Tigers (Michal Hubbard, Terri Lynne Peacock, Shandreka Foster, Emily Layton, Vivian Muth and Rachel Bostic) participated on that club team that was coached by now former Jefferson Davis Community College player Holly
Almony.
The T.R. Miller skipper said there are some parts of volleyball that are tougher than others to pick up after a break from competition.
T.R. Miller did not use any of the seven days that are now available through the Alabama High School Athletic Association for summer team competition.
T.R. Miller began practice Monday with 13 players, six of which were seniors.
we don't have more freshmen out. Right now we've only
got five freshmen and sophomores available for a junior varsity team. We're either going to have to drop our junior varsity
schedule, bring one of our juniors down to play or possibly bring up an eighth grader," Peacock said.
