Mr. John Howard Gunn, 61, died Saturday, July 31, 2005, in Atmore. He was a native of Phillipsville and a resident of Atmore for most of his life. He was a retired employee of Scott Paper Company. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Perry Lee Strength and Emma Lee Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Bobby Gunn of Atmore; three sons, David Amos and Ben Godwin, both of Atmore, and Neal Amos of Summerdale; two daughters, Brenda Moss of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Jennifer Stanley of Atmore; five brothers, Walter Gunn of Walnut Hill, Fla., Ben Gunn of Flomaton, Earl Gunn of Huxford, Cecil Gunn of Mobile and James Gunn of Perdido; one sister, Evelyn Rutherford of Atmore; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 1, at 3 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Peebles officiating. Burial followed at Sardis Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
