The Hospital Board will borrow up to $75,000 to build a public health clinic in Flomaton.
Preliminary floor plans for a new county jail were presented to the Board of Revenue by member L.W. Martin. Architect J. Streeter Wyatt is drawing plans for the $90,000 county jail. It will be a two-story, brick and steel structure measuring 74 by 35 feet and it will be built on the site of the present jail.
The county's General Fund lost $12,000, forcing them to borrow $20,000 from the Bank of Brewton.
The D.W. McMillan Hospital treated 1,473 patients during the 12 months ending June 30. The hospital also had an operating surplus of $3,455.66 for the year.
