Mrs. Mazie Elizabeth Mercer, 88, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at her residence in Summerfield, Fla. She was a native of Upper Marlboro, Md., and had been a resident of Florida since 1978. She was a Roman Catholic and a retired retail manager for Hecht's. She was preceded in death by three children, Doris Canter, David Canter Jr. and Paula Mae Brandau.
She is survived by her daughters, Mazie E. Bryant of Brewton, and Joan Beatrice Simonds and Helen Elizabeth Brandau, both of Ocala; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 29, at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Ocala. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
