Mr. George Eugene "Gene" Dubose, 74, died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at his residence in Damascus. He was a native of Covington County and a long time resident of Escambia County, Ala. He was of the Holiness faith, a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War, and was a retired logger.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Haveard Dubose of Damascus; one son, Paul L. Dubose of Brewton; three daughters, Loretta (Huey) King of Bradley, Sheila D. (Curtis) Hardy of Milton, Fla., and Imogene (Jim) Brown of East Brewton; three brothers, Charles Dubose and Billy Dubose, both of Damascus, and Delmas Dubose of East Brewton; three sisters, Marlene Pate of Brewton, Margie Johnson of East Brewton and Wilma Williams of Rock Creek; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Douglas Chapel Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
