Mr. Charles Ray Dinkins Sr., 60, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Melbourne, Fla., and a long time resident of East Brewton. He was of the Holiness faith and a retired mechanic. He was preceded in death by his mother Juanita Dinkins; a brother, Paul Dinkins and a grandson, Leigh McGougin.
He is survived by his father, Charles Wesley Dinkins of Apopka, Fla.; his former wife, Lerline Dinkins Gilmore of East Brewton; three sons, Gene Dinkins of Evergreen, and Charles (Bernice) Dinkins Jr. and Tony (Pam) Dinkins, both of East Brewton; three daughters, Diane (E.J. St. Germain) Dinkins of Plattenville, La., Linda (Dan) McGougin of East Brewton, and Candy (Tracy) Hunter of Brewton; one brother, James Earl Dinkins of Apopka, Fla.; one sister, Patricia Cline of Apopka; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Reo Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
