Mr. Rantle Rogers Blair, 82, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Brewton and a former resident of Mobile before moving back to Brewton. He was a retired carpenter and of the Holiness faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Franklin Blair; sisters, Ruthie Brooks and Lou Bloodsworth and a brother, Bill Blair.
He is survived by a sister, Clara Cohron of Brewton; three nephews; five nieces; and three grandchildren, Samantha, Brittany and Sarah Grace; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Barbara Pugh and Speaker Billy Brown officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Audrey Brown, Nikki Butts, Brenda Portwood, Tyler Brown, Casey Butts and Debra Smith.
