Mr. Robert Earl Barrow of the Damascus community died Aug. 26, 2005, after an extended illness. He was a former resident of Pensacola, Fla., and was employed at Monsanto for 35 years. He was a member of the Ensley Masonic Lodge 278 F&AM serving as master in 1973. He was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church and an active member of the Damascus Cemetery Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Douglas and Verna Inez Barrow; a brother, Edward Paul Barrow and a sister, Eva Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, JoAnn Barrow; his daughter, Debra (Eddie) Coker; his granddaughter, Carrie Jo Coker; for sisters, Geraldine McNorton, Barbara Tindell, Annie Jewel Parker and Shirley Dixon.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bert Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at Damascus Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Terry Jackson, James (Boots) Blackman, Clint Spinks, Bill Herrington, Brian Williamson and Johnnie Godwin.
