Mr. Clarence Holloway "Sonny" Etheredge Jr., 64, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2005, at his residence on Old Castleberry Road after an extended illness. He was a native of Montgomery and a former resident of Warm Springs, Ga., before moving to Brewton in July 1998. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired safety engineer with Georgia Pacific.
He is survived by his former spouse, Lou Etheredge of Brewton; two sons, Ryan Holloway Etheredge of Brewton, and Kelly Wayne (Pam) Etheredge of Charleston, S.C.; four daughters, Kristen Diane Etheredge of Brewton, and Celeste (Henry) Ardis, Sherry (Ron) Ingle and Stacey (Van) Purvis, all of Sumter, S.C.; one brother, Randall Etheredge of Cullman; one sister, Diane Day of Edgewood, N.M.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Glaize and the Rev. Brian Hammond officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
