Mrs. Voncile Ausby-Smith, 70, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005. She was a former resident of Johnsonville and Boykin before moving to Brewton. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Smith.
She is survived by seven children, Mandy Lucile Ausby-Anuforoh of New York, Willie George (Elaine) Ausby of Savannah, Ga., Kenneth Ausby of Brewton, Edward Smith (Latonya) of Atmore, Beauford Smith of Jacksonville, N.C., Jonathan Smith of Courtland and Mary Smith-Hardy of Brewton; three brothers, Willie B. (Loretta) Ausby of San Marcus, Calif., Lodea (Penny) Ausby of Irvington, N.J., and Henry (Mary) Ausby of Binghamton, N.Y.; seven sisters, Marcha (William) Lovelace and Leitha Gaines, both of Brewton, Rosa (Charles) Hall of Wichita Falls, Texas, Victoria (Paul) Nolan of Skaneateles, N.Y., Rachel (Howard) Wright of Camillus, N.Y., Rena (Reginald) Homan of Syracuse, N.Y. and Patricia (Kearnest) Gantt of Brewton; two granddaughters, Lena and Jocelyn; five grandsons, Kelvin, Cordarious, Orlando, Draper and Christopher.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Cheatham officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
