A $20,000 rural telephone project has been completed near Brewton which will provide service for an additional 47 farm families in the Appleton area.
A new rash of pole buildings is appearing on Alabama farms. Longtime favorites for barns, cribs and other outbuildings, these structures are now in wide use as broiler houses.
Circuit Judge A.H. Elliot faces a full docket when the fall term of criminal court opens Monday. Among the 99 cases are a man chaged with assault with intent to murder; killing a turkey hen; temporary use of a motor vehicle of another without consent; and aiding a prisoner to escape the county jail.
