Police arrest grocery robber

After a five-day investigation, the Brewton Police Department arrested a subject who was wanted for breaking into the Pic N Sav grocery in Brewton.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, police arrested Gerald Louis Grace of Brewton. He was charged with burglary, third degree.
According to a news release, Grace allegedly broke out the glass in the front of the grocery store with an unknown object. After calling the owner and supervisor, the officers entered the grocery store. After investigating further, it was found that several cartons of cigarettes were taken and the glass case holding the cigarettes was broken.
According to Lt. Randy Nicholson, Grace was developed as a suspect after it was reported to the police that he was attempting to sell packs of cigarettes.
Grace is currently in the Escambia County Jail.
