Same schedule. Same record. Same sideline view for the postseason.
It brings up an obvious question. Are the W.S. Neal Blue Eagles any better off with this year's 4-6 mark than the one they compiled last year?
Despite the same record, there are indicators that say the Blue Eagles took some steps forward this season. Last year W.S. Neal's six losses came by a combined 101 points, an average of 16.8 points per loss. This year's six losses were by a combined 52 points, an average of 8.7 points per setback.
W.S. Neal was able to take that step forward despite the fact this year's 10 opponents had a combined 63-37 record. Last year's regular season foes had a combined regular season mark of 61-38.
A 21-20 loss to Headland in week four, a 21-14 setback to Straughn in week eight and a 20-18 defeat against Southern Choctaw last week were especially bitter pills for the Blue Eagles to swallow. They also all shared a common theme that played a key role in the outcome
