Kylie Fitts of Brewton recently joined the Atmore law firm of Bert Rice as an associate.
She earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn.
She graduated from Cumberland School of Law in May 2005 and passed the bar this summer. It was through Cumberland's Career Center that she met Rice.
The irony was that Miss Fitts' parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Jack Fitts, live in Brewton where he serves as pastor of First Baptist Church. Although she spent her growing-up years in Virginia and Tennessee, she was actually born in Brewton.
She joined Rice in August and said she is enjoying learning about different areas of the law.
As a Cumberland student, Miss Fitts interned with the district attorney of Jefferson County.
She also enjoys jogging, water sports, reading and writing.
