Mr. Arvin Burns Downing, 76, of East Brewton, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at a Pensacola health facility after a brief illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, was a retired painter and attended East Brewton Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Juanita Faye Downing of East Brewton; two sons, Terry Downing of West Granite, Ill., and Darren Downing of Tallahassee, Fla.; seven daughters, Elizabeth (Mack) Stone of Damascus, Carolyn (Roger) Wiggins of East Brewton, Sharon (Ed) Castleberry and Tina (Todd) Madden, both of Brewton, Lisa (Jerry) Davis of Flomaton, and Cathy Downing and Robin Downing, both of West Granite, Ill.; two sisters, Adelle Trawick of Brewton and Estelle (Horace) Laymon of East Brewton; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be today, Nov. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
