According to Capt. Randy Nicholson with the Brewton Police Department, over the past several weeks the police department has been overrun with forgeries, accounts closed, counterfeit checks and money orders.
With the 2005 holiday season upon us, the Brewton Police Department is offering the following information to help protect local merchants from becoming a victim in check fraud. To assist local merchants, the police department offers the following instruction:
