Mrs. Hazel Ruth Williamson Downs, 85, of Appleton Road, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at her residence after a brief illness. She was a native and long time resident of Brewton, and a former resident of Detroit, Mich. She was a retired seamstress with Judy Bond Fashions and a member of North Brewton Baptist Church. She taught Bible study at Westgate Village Nursing Home.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Downs of Detroit, and Richard (Debi) Downs of Ferndale, Miss.; one daughter, Barbara Jean (John) Dunn of Milton, Fla.; one brother, George (Erlene) Williamson of Brewton; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
