Mr. Jeffrey Deon Upton, 37, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at a Pensacola, Fla., health care facility. He was a native of Brewton, and a resident of Milton for the past six years. He worked for the Santa Rosa Correctional System and was a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team and Correctional Officer Association.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Spears Upton of Milton; two sons, Tristan and Tanner Upton of Milton; his parents, Jimmy “Leo” and Anita Upton of Flomaton; a brother, Teg Upton of Flomaton and a sister, Tammy (Dewayne) Holley of Brewton.'
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at Little Escambia Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Patrick, the Rev. Cliff Emmons, Chaplain Robert Jones and Chaplain Car Reeves officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Chris Brannon, Phil Hallford, John McShea, Kenny Cannon, Maury Long and Scott DeGraif. Honorary pallbearers were Scotty White and John Fields.
