Effective Jan. 15, Escambia County employees will be insured through a new hospital insurance company after commissioners this week approved the new health benefits program.
East Brewton councilmen voted Monday night to require that East Brewton residents burning less than one-fourth acre of land contact Fire Chief Guy Langham.
After meeting with a local grocer who protested new monthly sanitation pickup rates that become effective Jan.1, the Brewton City Council amended the rates for stores and retail establishments with gross incomes of more than $1 million.
The annual Christmas sale of the Thrift Store on the campus of Southern Normal School will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Dec. 13.
