History, genealogy seminar planned

Interested in getting involved with history or genealogy? Now is your chance.
The Escambia County Genealogy Society will present a “How To Do It” seminar on Dec. 8, upstairs at Book &Bean beginning at 9 a.m.
The admission is $8 and a reservation in advance is needed. Lunch is not included, but Book &Bean will be open for those who wish to eat there.
Four speakers will be on hand to talk and answer questions. Lydia Grimes, features writer for The Brewton Standard, will give some tips on how to do family research; Lee Otts, local retired attorney, will speak about the history of the Presbyterian Church in Brewton; Rev. Daniel Dozier will speak on the history of Southern Normal School and Eddie Nall, official with the Bank of Brewton, will tell the history of the Bank of Brewton, which is well over 100 years old.
The Escambia County Genealogy Society is only a few years old and its purpose is to promote and assist those who are interested in family research. If you are interested in joining, contact W.T. Williams.
