Blueberry to drop again

Break out the hats, noisemakers and party attire – the countdown to 2006 is quickly approaching. For those who will be ringing in the new-year at home, plan to attend the city of Brewton's 14th annual Blueberry Drop this Saturday, New Year's Eve.
Events will begin at 8:30 p.m. followed by live entertainment from New Orleans-based Sha'On and the Girls of Success.
The band, popular among New Orleans mystic societies for Mardi Gras balls, is hyped for its Motown sound.
The band will perform in the city park located behind the message center.
The giant blueberry will drop from the message center at midnight, and a fireworks extravaganza will follow.
The city of Brewton released the New Year's Eve program for this Saturday:
8:30 p.m. – Recorded Music Begins as a Preshow
9 p.m. – Live Entertainment by Sha'On &The Girls with Success
11 p.m. – “New York, New York” played
11:30 p.m. – “Sweet Home Alabama” played
11:50 p.m. – Spotlight on the Blueberry Cluster
11:55 p.m. – “Blueberry Hill”
11:59 p.m. – Countdown to the New Year - Sha'On Foster
Midnight – “Auld Lang Syne” - Fireworks Begin
12:03 (approximately) – Patriotic music played (CD)
12:20 a.m. (approximately) – Activities conclude
