It was a game much like their other ones played this season where the Brewton Middle School Lady Tigers had their opponent under firm control by the time halftime arrived.
Such dominance enabled the Lady Tigers to cap off an undefeated season Tuesday when they rolled past the host Carver Blackcats 42-15.
Coach Greg White's crew never looked back after it roared out to a 22-9 lead by the end of the first quarter. That advantage grew to 27-11 by halftime and 36-15 through three quarters.
Nakiya Smith pumped in 18 points to lead Brewton (10-0), while Janel McCorvey and Keydra Shedrone each added eight.
The Brewton Tigers nearly wiped out a nightmarish first half with a furious second half comeback, but fell short in a 45-40 decision to Carver in their season finale.
Brewton (6-4) fell behind 10-0 through one quarter and 26-2 by halftime before it stormed back.
The Tigers outscored Carver 39-19 in the second half, which included a 21-6 edge in the fourth quarter, but the first half deficit was just too much to overcome.
Derrick Riley and Chris Bell each had 10 points to lead the Tigers, while Deonte Powell added seven.
