Mr. John W. Long, 76, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at a Baldwin County hospital. He was a native of Wallace and a longtime resident of the Flomaton community. During his working years, he was employed with International Paper Company and was a member of the Retirees Club there. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ouida Ward Long.
He is survived by a stepson, James Earl Parker of Brewton; two sisters, Arnell Tullis and Wilodyne Johnson, both of Flomaton and a special friend, Delmer Tew of Flomaton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Patterson officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Joffrey Tullis, Ronald Tullis, Daniel Moore, Ruel Ward, Jamison Ward and Andrew Ward.
