Kindergarten improvements to begin soon

By the time the 2006-07 school year begins, the Brewton City School System should be ready to greet new kindergarten students with new classrooms.
Superintendent Lynn  Smith told board members Monday night that he, board member Terrill Neal and elementary principal Deborah Marriott had met with the architect to discuss specifics of the project.
The project at the kindergarten building on Belleville, which also is home to system administrative offices, includes renovations in the &#8220old” part of the building to include seven kindergarten classrooms, a classroom for those with multiple disabilities, and meeting space
Smith said work would begin when schools let out for the summer. The project also will include a new roof for Brewton Elementary School.
