Three times this season the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks have played on back-to-back nights and three times they have lost the back end.
The latest episode was Tuesday's 82-69 road loss to the Faulkner State Sun Chiefs in an Alabama Community College Conference south division matchup.
JDCC (7-10 overall and 3-3 in the ACCC) had a season high three-game winning streak snapped with its third game in four nights and fell two games behind south division tri-leaders Southern Union, Enterprise and L.B. Wallace.
The Warhawks had a 22-20 lead midway through the first half thanks to three three-pointers and 11 points by Arthur Richardson, but as well as Richardson played Faulkner State's Eugene Myers-Kyles was even better.
Myers-Kyles lit up the scoreboard for 22 first half points on his way to 30 for the game. That included 13 points over the final 10 minutes of the first half when Faulkner State moved in front 44-39 by halftime.
The Sun Chiefs, who had uncharacteristically dropped eight of their previous nine games, still had that five-point lead midway through the second half at 59-54 when they made their decisive move with a 23-15 surge.
Faulkner State buried a dozen three-pointers during the game, five from Dajaun Hunter and four more from Myers-Kyles.
Kedric Wilson led JDCC with 18 points, while Richardson added 17. Jairus Jackson and Jeremy Cleveland also reached double digits with 10.
The Warhawks return home Monday for an ACCC south game against Bishop State at 7 p.m.
