The T.R. Miller Tiger varsity boys with Coach Doug Branson at the helm garnered second place in the Southwest Alabama Conference at Monroeville.

Top spellers at Brewton Middle School in the school's recent Spelling Bee were Troy Frazier, winner of the event, and Kim Perry, runner-up.
The unresolved problem of leakage from the Brewton Elementary School roof was one of the main items discussed at the Brewton City Board of Education meeting. Superintendent Dale Garner told board members he had tried unsuccessfully over a 4 1/2-year period to have the roof repaired properly.
