Have you had your blood pressure or cholesterol checked lately? Do you know the symptoms of a stroke or heart attack? Would you like to be a part of the latest fitness craze?
If so please mark your calendar and make plans to join all of Brewton and the surrounding areas for the 12th Annual FitFest program set for Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Education Center of D. W. McMillan Hospital.
Please note the change in location from previous years.
Several community services and health care professionals will unite to present a dynamic health program.
First is the Health Fair. Have your cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar screening, tobacco assessment and lung assessments done as a FREE service of D. W. McMillan Hospital. Fasting - (Do not eat any food after midnight) is highly recommended for accurate results from your screenings and tests.
Other exciting programs featured that day include “Matters of the Heart” by Bob Ellis, director of Nursing, D. W. McMillan Hospital and “Strength Training for Seniors” by Janet Peterman, fitness director of the Brewton Area YMCA.
Prepare to win door prizes, enjoy heart healthy refreshments, learn new information, and the chance to have fun and fellowship with your friends.
This free service to Brewton and surrounding areas is sponsored by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System in partnership with D.W. McMillan Hospital and the Brewton Area YMCA.
