Mrs. Janet Russ Lang, 52, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2006, at a Pensacola hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Covington, Ky., and a former resident of Prattville before moving to Brewton in 1985. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Brewton. She was active in the Civic League, Lupus Foundation, her church and had been music director at First Baptist Church of Brewton.
She is survived by her husband, John Lang of Brewton; two sons, David (Beth) Lang and Hunter Lang, both of Birmingham; two daughters, Patra Lang of Birmingham and Amber Lang of Brewton; a brother, Thomas Russ of Niceville, Fla.; three sisters, Melanie Brown of Florence, Anita Flammia of Dunedin, Fla., and Nancy Schimmer of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and one grandson, Clay Lang.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Brewton with the Rev. John Finklea and the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
