Mrs. Amelia King Russell, 101, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. She was a native of Ozark and a former resident of Pinckard and Brewton. She graduated from Troy State University and was a schoolteacher. She taught Sunday school at First Methodist Church of Brewton for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Albert Barnard Russell Sr.; two sisters, Lillian King and Eunice King McCoy; and brothers, Charles, Jim, Harry, Lewie, Percy and Virgil.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Albert Barnard (JoAnne) Russell Jr.; three granddaughters, Jett Russell (Steven) Tanner of Tampa, Fla., Caryn Russell (Jim) Whitney of Shalimar, Fla., and Julee Russell Dardeau of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home with Dr. Howard Gates officiating. Burial followed at Beal Street Cemetery with Emerald Coast directing.
