It would be almost impossible to have been in the interviews the staff of The Standard has conducted in the past few weeks and not be excited about Brewton's potential.
As we considered our coverage for today's annual Progress edition, we attempted to focus on things that make our community special.
Our community seems to be in the midst of a period in which many are focusing on building and improving our community. The efforts of the Coastal Gateway Economic Development Authority to market us to the outside world will surely be enhanced by the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce, the ACE committees, D.W. McMillan Hospital and others to make a great community even better.
Among the things that makes our community great is the small-town emphasis on families. We've added a new section this year that focuses on families who are in the same business.
As you ready today's edition, we hope you'll agree that we're on the verge of even more exciting things. We hope you'll enjoy our celebration of the community's progress as much as we have enjoyed writing about it.
