BFD gets generator

By By LYDIA GRIMES – Features writer
The city of Brewton is learning from their mistakes after Hurricane Ivan left the town and crucial city departments without power for several days. City officials and law enforcement have been working hard to develop strategic plans, and among the items officials found the city crucially needed were generators.
Brewton Fire Department officials announced this week that a new generator has arrived in town and is being housed at the fire department.
Chief Weaver said the new generator will run on natural gas and be able to run the whole fire station in case of an emergency.
